Caught in my head
Swirling and twisting thoughts
Of this, or that - the news, to do,
Forgotten, regrets - they consume
My peace, my calm
Fragments touching down and taking off
Replaced by the next
Then clear eyes catch me - steady
And firm, my heart pulses and I see

I am drawn to soft fur; a tail wag
And I breath anew
Slowing, finding space for
